Re: Trying to make a decision about breeding
Sorry if I was a little outspoken, but this subject gets me going beyond belief. I recently found out some things about the Quarter Horse industry that just totally made me lose respect all the way around and burns me every time I think about it. Please don't breed your dog. Having been in the show ...

Re: When do YOU go to the emergency room? - Group Discussion
Hi Vivian, its been a long time, my heart is healing and coming here is not so hard as it was. There is comfort here even after losing your precious angel. I am sure it helps you as well. You helped me so much and you are still giving all you have. But if I can just offer one thing from my ordeal th...

Re: Trying to make a decision about breeding
This is an excellent post. We recently found out that Jezzy's mother was bred at 12 months -- that was enough to send me into a fit of rage. I can't imagine any breeder even considering breeding if there is any kind of illness or defect in the background of either parent dog. We had our young male n...

Re: When do YOU go to the emergency room? - Group Discussion
Hi guys, I guess I will put my two cents in here as Jezzy was the queen of clusters and died of status. Please be aware that Jezzy was totally refractory and her's only became worse and worse. She was never controlled on any medication. She was the worst case that my vet had ever seen. And believe m...

Re: The Gaps Are Shortening
Brian, I was hoping not to find you here still posting, but not to be. I have thought about Apache often and wondering how you were doing. We too thought about the Keppra but only until my vet talked with Vivian's neurologist and then the decision was made to go with the zonisamide for Jezzy, even t...

Re: Morgan
Oh Susan Marie, I am so sorry to hear this......I don't come back too often anymore, as I am so afraid that I will see friends that are gone. You were always there for me and Jezzy.....I had so hoped that you might be the one to make it. My tears are with you. Believe, me I know how you feel. And no...

I jumped on here because I got an email notice that there was an update on Meara, and I was so pleased to find out it wasn't a bad posting!!!!! I haven't been on in awhile, Vivian is right, it really hurts to come here. I am not over Jezzabelle and I don't think I ever will be. I still have nightmar...

Hi all, I do check in to see how everyone is doing and yes, I am always hoping that there isn't another casualty on the board. We are healing and have a new puppy in the house, which has helped immensely. Her name is Ms. Jezzabell Ladybug. She is now 10 weeks old and so much like her namesake that i...

Our Last Update
It is with a very sad and heavy heart that I write this. We lost Jezzabelle this morning. Jezzy is now over the rainbow bridge with MK and everyone else. She started seizing at 2 am and went into status. We couldn't put her through it anymore and I had never seen it this bad. I have comfort in knowi...

Yep we totally checked her ears on her last exam about a week ago. Nothing, clean as a whistle. It was also my first thought that she had a major ear infection going on. But this has been getting worse with time. She does tilt her head and favors the left side. She will dig at the ear and then get d...

Update on Jezzabelle.......frustration plain and simple. Her pheno levels are too high, so we backed her down to 5 gr. per day and we are weaning her off the levothyroxine. There was no control of the seizures with the med and the pheno will cause a low thyroid panel anyway. We are also trying a con...

Vivian, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I know what MK meant to you. I have been trying to stay away from here, dealing with our own battles, otherwise I would have seen this sooner. You have done so much for Jezzabelle and myself, and if there is anything I can do please let me know. MK is de...
