3 months and counting - seizure free

5 yr old male irish setter, Sneaky, is doing well. No seizure attacks in 3 months. The mixture of keppra-1750 mg, phenobarbital-330 mg and Taurine-500mg is doing the trick so far. Have my fingers crossed and praying it stays this way. From the time we started Taurine, things have really changed. His...

Re: Unable to break the 20 day cycle & clusters

As none of the medications seem to be working, the vet is now suggesting treating for toxoplasmosis. Heard of this? Anyone has experience with this? All of snakes blood work has come back normal. PB levels in mid range of therapeutic levels. Even though he has been on keppra for over 30 days, no tra...

Re: Nothing seems to be working - Refractory case !

Thank you for all your inputs and information. With PB and KBr, Sneaky was still getting his seizures every 8-10 days. That's when my vet consulted a vet internist (internal medicine). He suggested to start with Keppra 80mg once daily....now Sneaky is on 125 mg x3 daily along with 120mg PB x2 daily....
