Re: Longest period ever seizure free!
Thanks to you both. I've missed coming here. I quit writing in his seizure log too. I call it The Book of Pure Evil. I put it away and never look at it. I changed jobs in December to be closer to home so now I can come home at lunch and give him his Keppra instead of waking up at 1:30 a.m. every nig...

Re: Acceptable I can give treats?
In the beginning of this journey I kept Winston on his regular diet and treats. When the seizures continued I did some research and put him on grain free food. I bought him a rawhide one day and he had a seizure within an hour. Maybe he was going to seize anyway but I cut out the treats except for S...

Sorry Jake had a seizure but congrats on the medication working so well. It's a huge relief when you find something that works fast in those crazy moments. Wishing you the best and wishing everyone happy holidays.

Re: Ocular Compressions
I just posted about this on another string. I have been utilizing ocular compression when Winston acts weird and it does seem to calm him down. Now, I am not sure if that is just because he likes to be touched in general or if it is actually working to release Gaba into the brain :) It is worth look...

Re: from grand mals to focal seizures?
No. 1 - Happy Birthday to all of the above :) Another milestone! No. 2 - "seizure juice" has been all over my house along with the copious slobber goop that gets on everything and if anyone comes in there with a black light I will be mortified. No. 3 - I'm in Florida, we're getting down to 38 tonigh...

Re: Here we go again :o(
Hey Colleen. I'm sorry to hear he was back at it, but glad he seems to have calmed down now. One is hard enough to watch, nine has to be just unbearable and you are not a wussy. Winston had one seizure and I had to pick up his meds and when the pharmacist asked how he was I just burst into tears. It...

Re: New Here for Deena
I'm sorry. It's just so hard to deal with facing such a terrible disease that is difficult to control, painful to watch and having to see the one you love so much going through it is truly heartbreaking. We're thinking of you and keeping paws crossed.

What cuties
Happy Halloween! Neither of my pups tolerate costumes. Even bandanas freak them out. I would so love to make a Pin Head costume for my little non-epi Patty Cake
It would suit her so well.

I am so sorry. I know that you did everything you could for your babe. You loved her and she loved you. She was so lucky to have someone like you to care for her.

It's really tough when you are in the throws of clusters and pacing, and eating, and whining and those damned awful looking seizures and if you need to freak out any time, please feel free to come here and vent :) Sometimes it's just too much. It has always taken Winston a period of time to adjust t...
