Oh Colleen, my heart just breaks for you! I haven'5 been on in a while so I am just now seeing this.
You have been such a huge support to so many on this board.
I hope you have been able to find some healing. I know how much you loved him and you were his angel!
Hugs from both Eley and me!!

I agree with Colleen, I would go to the closer vet (especially at a high traffic time). Typically they would be able to stabilize until you can transfer to the emergency vet/hospital.

Re: clorazepate before a seizure?
We start Clorazepate after seizures start, but if Eley is throwing out signs where it seems that a seizure is going to happen, I'll go ahead and give her a dose before they start.

Re: Thank you!
Eley has been about the same. She's still seizing every couple of weeks or so, but her grand mals are much less severe than they ever have been, so I'll call that a win. She recently started having focal seizures every few days or so, but I'll take those over a single grand mal any day!! How has you...

Thank you!
Not really a success, but I just want to say thank you to everyone here for being so supportive of one another! I recently came across a post on a Facebook group that I belong to. A woman with a young family that is at a crossroads. Her dog's seizures have become very severe and she was asking for a...

Re: What to give pills with?
I just put the pills in with Eley's dry food. Luckily, she's not a picky girl and will eat anything. She gets excited at the rattle of a pill bottles. I think that officially makes her an addict... I think others on here have pickier dogs and have to change it up from time to time, but I've heard of...

Re: Pb Levels and Blood work
Thanks for asking, Jen! Eley has been well - no seizures since 2/12. The other day she was acting really off and I just had a gut feeling it was going to be a seizure night so I gave her a clorazepate with her dinner. Either it held off a seizure or she was never going to have one and just wanted ex...

Re: New here, Mochi's story!
First off, Mochi is adorable! Welcome to the group. Sounds like you've had quite the journey. Trust me, we all get it here. I think everyone here has posted our joys, sorrows, vented in anger, and just tried to comfort someone else. I couldn't imagine daily seizures or seizures triggered by exciteme...

Re: essential oils
So, a coworker let me borrow her essential oils to see what I thought of them. Apparently Eley thought it would be a good time to see how they interact with her seizures too... :| I didn't have them anywhere near her (I hadn't even opened it yet) so I'm confident they didn't cause the seizures. I ha...

So happy it worked for you!
When we would give Eley Valium, she wouldn't calm down for anything. She just paced...and paced....and paced...and paced....

essential oils
I'm thinking of getting an essential oil diffuser for our house (a coworker sells them and they are amazing!). My concern is diffusing oils that could be harmful to Eley. Anyone use an essential oil diffuser and have any oils they stay away from that could trigger seizures? Or have oils you particul...
