Re: Zonisamide
@ Crazy Dog Lover I saw in your earlier post what you pay for your Keppra XR. FYI- we get ours at Costco and buy a 3-moths supply (4 pills/day) for around $250. It's cheaper to buy in bulk. As far as Zonisamide, I'm going to try and start Innis on it. After 4 weeks since his last episodes (4 cluster...

Re: Shiloh seized while awake
Hi Colleen, How is Shiloh? Most of Innis' first seizures in a cluster will occur while he's relaxed, but the GMs after that can occur at any time. The latest was while he was outside. He usually paces around for about five or ten minutes before a seizure, trying to tell us that something is wrong. I...

Re: Seeking new treatment options: Epileptic Aussie
We get our Keppra XR from Costco if this helps anyone. It's not cheap, but it's MUCH cheaper than trying to get it filled at a pharmacy. We also buy in bulk, at 3 month supplies, so that reduces the cost too. The XR is expensive, but this method makes it more affordable.

Re: Seeking new treatment options: Epileptic Aussie
Ha ha! If they could only speak and tell us what they think about our guitar playing/singing...It's probably better that they can't. Update: Innis hasn't had a seizure in 24+ hours, so that's positive. He seems to be getting back to normal but he's extremely skittish. Every little noise seems to sta...

Re: Seeking new treatment options: Epileptic Aussie
Wow, thank you for these responses. I really hope we will have a success story to share with others. Sorry for the late response, but Innis had a 4th seizure right after my post. I gave Innis a combination of extra meds tonight to try and end the clusters. He seems to be calm now and sleeping while ...
