Thanks so much everyone! We had an autopsy done - so it will be 4-6 weeks before we have the results. Most likely a brain tumor.
We have 5 other pups that are filling the sadness in my heart - so that helps.

We lost the Fight
Hi Everyone, I was only here for a brief time (about 2 months), but wanted to let you all know that our little girl, Lucille, got her angel wings this past Sunday. I was on my way to the Ohio State University Vet Medical Center when she had multiple seizures during the trip (5.5 hours). I took her i...

Re: Dog diagnosed with epilepsy - meds causing HUNGER
Our Boxer, Lucille, is exhibiting the exact behavior. She also started on Phenobarbital and KBr was later added after she started having breakthrough seizures. We now suspect the seizures are due to a brain tumor. We will be seeing a neurologist on Monday and a MRI done on Tuesday to determine her c...

Post Ictal Pacting - Day 2
Hi Everyone.... Shelly & Lucille here, I have done a "search" regarding post ictal pacing, but am not finding exactly the insights I'm looking for - so apologies for yet another post ictal enquiry!! Lucille has been pacing for 2 days now after her seizure Tuesday afternoon. What I would like to know...

Re: a new understanding of epilepsy
Colleen, We have not had an MRI done - just don't have the resources for it right now. But, based on the symptoms that I showed the vet (videos and pictures), he said most likely that she has a tumor. If she is still with us in 6 months time - we will then take her in to see exactly what type of tum...

Re: a new understanding of epilepsy
Hi Colleen, Took Lucille to vets yesterday because she just wasn't snapping back from a 15 second seizure. Naturally she was pretty responsive during her visit. Mentioned the boney head, but with her it's so hard to tell because she was always a little pointy! I went back and looked at a bunch of pi...

Re: a new understanding of epilepsy
Thanks so much, Trevor, for this information. Lucille, diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy in early December (most likely caused by brain tumor, but don't have the resources for MRI right now) has been acting just as you describe these last 2 days. She had a small 15 second seizure 3 nights ago (none...

Re: Not Seizures, but brain tumor
Lucille had a small seizure last night - about 15 seconds. Took me by surprise since she was having one of her best perky days and hasn't had a seizure since 12/25. She's fine, just a little lethargic and sleepy this morning. Got some nub wags from here and my morning nose kiss - so that's encouragi...

Hi Diana,
I'm a new member here. Such good news you posted about Eley! The hardest part is over and now Eley just needs time to heal. Prayers for you both during her recovery and the results on the biopsies. Maybe you can take her on a few more walks to help keep her calm...

Re: Not Seizures, but brain tumor
Thanks all! Lucille, which I forgot to mention is a 4 yr, 4 month old Boxer, and is still doing very well with the help of the prednisone and her seizure medicines. No seizures since 12/24 and is just about 100% in over all stability and vision. We had a recheck with the vets on Friday and they were...

Re: Need Advice--One dog attacking epi dog
Hello... I'm Shelly and new to the forum. I'm so sorry to read about your situation. I would certainly consult with your vet on the behavioral problems with Lily. Maybe there is some medication to take the edge off her so that she is not aggressive towards Lily when she has a seizure. Sadly the seiz...

Hahahahha... try to find humor anywhere I can. Have no idea what the little alien head in doing in my post, but Lucille's PB dosage is 64.8mg

I found this wonderful forum and have combed through it during the long Christmas break reading all the informative posts anxiously waiting to be "activated" by the administrator so that...
