Re: Veterinary MRI

Hi, I apologize in advance, this is a long post, but what I know can help you. The thing with pet insurances as I have found, is their clauses phrasing for pre-existing conditions and certain hereditary conditions or congenital conditions, and how they may determine what is one. None actually cover ...

Re: Nothing is Working!

Hi, I am sorry to hear you had to put Darby down this Jan. - it's never an easy decision by no means, but like I said YOU know your dog and when it comes to that time, it is like no other. Like with my dog, Buttercup, we knew when her disease (Pug Dog Encephalitis) took over and no amount of treatme...

Re: Newly Diagnosed 4-Year Old Female Pug

Hi Lynne, You're amazing, I had no idea you went through cancer too. Happy to hear you are a survivor. I pray for your continued good health and many blessings to you and your loved ones. Thank you for your advice and kind words, prayers too. Despite having a few side effects, small setbacks, she's ...

Re: Newly Diagnosed 4-Year Old Female Pug (Pug Dog Encephalitis)

Hello everyone, just wanted to say hello. It's been weird not having Buttercup around, and I miss her daily. Almost 8 months since she's passed and sometimes I still feel it all when I think of her. Other times when I think of her and smile, remembering the good times. My love for her has not change...

Re: Nothing is Working!

Hello, So Sorry your little one began having seizures. It's not easy to deal with, or treat, but hopefully you find the right meds and regimen for better control. I can't say very much of your dog's condition, other than if you think he needs a neurologist to consult, don't hesitate or wait too long...

Re: Gentle Giant

Lynne, I just wanted to clarify something I wrote. When I wrote of something underlying in Jake, I meant perhaps a disease so well hidden in the absence of other symptoms or indications, that it had nothing identifiable to treat other than what had been treated already. There was no way for you or h...

Re: Epilepsy seizures? Videos attached

Hi, Light here, Your pug is beautiful, what is her name? I watched your video and I too am concerned as your are when I saw what you meant by her legs being weak. She does seem oriented but lack of interest in her toy...awww....., may I ask if this was after a recognized seizure or is the running ar...

Re: Lost my Lola

Hi, Brittany, I am so sorry for your loss, I know you're heartbroken, can feel it through the screen. Remember losing a beloved pet is akin to losing a child, so be kind, easy on you and your family. I know your grief is immeasurable, I wish there was something I could say to comfort you and your fa...

Re: Vaccinations with epi dogs

Hi, My dog never had any issues with vaccines even before her onset of seizures. However, I didn't give mine her boosters once she began having seizures. At the time the question came up for us, we didn't know much about her condition or seizures and we were advised to give the vaccines one at a tim...

Re: Pomerain has had 3 seizures, need advise

I think too it would be wise to find another vet or at least a neurologist who has experience with dogs with seizures, even though yours has had so few in a year, it is still concerning of course. I cannot believe they would give you a med and barely explain, that boggles my mind. As needed would su...

Re: My Yorkie's seizures are becoming more frequent

I did a post for you in another topic, I think it treatment and maintenance section. I was wondering how Bailey is doing. My dog was on phenobarbital for the duration of her illness, with other meds too (she was not on keppra ever). I just know with phenobarbital, it is important to make sure the bl...

Re: Add Zonisamide or increase Keppra dose?

This is for MooBear: My dog was on both zonisamide and phenobarbital and did well on it. She went 4 months seizure free after we added zonisamide, her longest time without any seizure activity and those months were like nothing was wrong with her. It was an amazing time. The side effects were easy t...

Re: Yorkie on Keppra with seizures occurring more frequently

Hi, Loliz, I apologize for this being long. The only advice I can give regarding her treatment is to keep talking with Bailey's neurologist about everything- don't hold back on any questions or concerns you have. Maybe save up for a MRI, if you can do one eventually- a dog so young at under two year...

Re: Newly Diagnosed 4-Year Old Female Pug

Sorry it took me a while to write back. We just found out about a month ago that my younger sister (special needs) has pancreatic cancer. She went in for suspected gall bladder and they found PC in the process. She's staged at IIB which is rare. The surgeon actually said "surgery for a cure" for her...

Re: Gentle Giant

Lynne, Sorry it's been a while that you've written this. I didn't see this until now (I had taken some time away due to circumstances). You have to know the blessing you and your family are to Jake and him to you. I say that in the present because love's gifts never end, they keep on giving. I know ...
