Re: Seizures more Intense

Killian's seizures started at 1 year, 11 months. 14 years is a good run with any dog - my dogs were all around there: Daisy - 10 put down due to hip displaysia Ralph - 13 put down due to stroke English - 16 put down due to seizure/stroke brought on from old age Kutya - 13 put down due to a second ro...

Re: Other dog's reaction to a seizing dog.

Jericho is honestly fairly traumatized by Killian's seizures - but only since he went into status in January. I think even he was convinced that pup wasn't coming home from the hospital that time. Jericho had to go through a short term period of seizures with my 17 year old shep/collie at the end - ...

Re: Seizures - food allergy

One thing we did with Killian was change his food.. he's had three food changes since his seizures started - this last change plus the addition of potassium bromide got us to 101 days the last round. He's on Nutrience dry - grain free with added MCT - three protein blend - and has the wet food formu...

Re: Killian - aka Honey Badger - aka Lil Bit - aka Baby

Hi Lynne, Thanks for taking the time to reach out - I've followed Jake's story through your posts - he sounds like he was an amazing boy - I was so sorry to read when you lost him. Personally, I'm not a screamer - I'm a crier. At Killian's worst, there were times I needed nothing more than just to b...

Re: Seizures more Intense

I'm pretty sure we started Killian at about day 40 and he made it to 62 that round. We were using a 500mg pure oil. What I was hoping for more than anything was a lessening of the violence of his seizures or a cluster break, but that was one of the bad weeks he ended up in hospital at the OVC. I gav...

Re: Killian - aka Honey Badger - aka Lil Bit - aka Baby

Sleeping is the worst - most of his seizures start while he's sleeping, so nights are stressful. In the beginning, I barely slept at night - I would sleep on the sofa to make sure I slept light just in case. Now that I realize there is nothing, absolutely nothing we can do, I'm back to sleeping in b...

Re: Seizures more Intense

If it helps any, we tried CBD oil with Killian's seizures - we were using a pure CBD formula, and it did absolutely nothing for him. He was a little more relaxed after the seizures, but it did nothing for any kind of control. We use it now on our older non epi-dog for his joints and his dry nose - i...

Killian - aka Honey Badger - aka Lil Bit - aka Baby

How is everyone tonight? I'm Lea... and I'm Killian's mama. I wish none of us had to be here, but it is what it is - we started presenting seizures on May 24, 2017 at 1 year 11 months old. At first we thought it was a fluke - he had one at 2 in the afternoon and one at 2 in the morning, and then it ...
