Re: Introducing Phrynie (Fry-Knee)

Hi Abby, I am sorry to say we lost Phrynie last fall. She was on a downward spiral, and letting her go seemed like the only humane avenue left for us. I miss her still, but life has gotten much easier for everyone. And we adopted a new little guy right before Christmas. We call him Benny, and he is ...

Re: Ellie - Possible Seizures

Hi Jennah, I had a little dog with seizures until recently. Her seizures were uncontrollable and we had to euthanize her. Don't panic! That situation is very rare. It does sound like your little pup could be having a seizure of some type, but I would definitely talk to your vet about it. She may jus...

Re: New to CEN

Hi Tony's Mom, I recently lost my little Phrynie to uncontrollable seizures. I have two other dogs--Daisy and Sparky--who did very well with her until the last couple of months. At that point, Daisy began attacking Phrynie while she was seizing. As with your dogs, there was never any sign of injury,...

Re: Introducing Phrynie (Fry-Knee)

Thank you, Trevor and Lynne, for your very supportive words. My friends have all been very kind, but I know that it is hard for them to comprehend what loving a dog with seizures is like. It is so good to have support from others who understand. I began crying the moment Phrynie was gone, and didn't...

Re: Introducing Phrynie (Fry-Knee)

I just want to let everyone know that we have lost our little Phrynie. After a long struggle with cluster seizures, she had a severe seizure about midnight a couple weeks ago. We used a dose of emergency medicine and stopped it, but then she had a second seizure, ten times worse than the first one. ...

Re: Introducing Phrynie (Fry-Knee)

Hi Tevor, You have been so helpful to me. Thank you so much! As far as triggers go, I do know to avoid salty foods and certain flea and tick medicines. Stress is definitely a factor for Phrynie. She gets very stressed by strangers coming into the house. Noise and hubbub don't seem to bother her, as ...

Re: Introducing Phrynie (Fry-Knee)

Hi Trevor, Thank you so much for your reply. When I talk about Phrynie with other dog parents, they really don't understand what this is like. It has made me feel very isolated, so I appreciate hearing from someone who has gone through this and knows how it feels. I misspoke about the potassium brom...

Introducing Phrynie (Fry-Knee)

Hi, my name is Beth. I rescued a chihuahua/miniature poodle/bulldog mix In January of 2018. She had just given birth to a litter of puppies and was estimated to be about a year old. She was a real challenge, having never been housebroken or trained in any way, and she was terrified of my husband. Bu...
