Thanks, Carolyn.
The vet upped her meds a bit yesterday....hate to do it, but hate to see her having seizures as well.
I do wish I could stay home with her, but it's just not possible.

7 months with no seizures!
at least any that we are aware of.....as we work during the day. Then last Monday night she had one, and again last night (Sunday). We just had her medication levels checked and they were within therapeutic ranges. This is frustrating and all of that stess that was starting to slip away is back. Oh ...

Hello and welcome. You'll find a wealth of info here and some kind folks too. Keely had her first seizure in November also, on the 8th. When she had a couple more in the following days my vet ran some tests and then put her on Pottasium Bromide. She continued to have seizures and had 4 on the day be...

Welcome to this great forum! I think most of us can relate to how scary it all is - especially when you have no idea what's happening. Our ordeal started on November the 8th. My husband was a bloody mess after Keely's first seizure, as he, thinking she was choking or something, was attempting to ope...

Hello and welcome! I am new here too and have Keely, a 2 year old Golden Retriever. She had her first seizure early in November, started KBr after number two, and then started PB a week or so later after having 4 in one day (not cluster though). So far so good on the meds, no seizures and she seems ...

I just want to say I'm so sorry that you're having such a hard time. I'm new to this forum, and I'm also very lucky as Keely's seizures seem to be under control for the time being with KBr (1.6 mg twice daily and and PB (60 mg twice daily). And, as stressful as it is to watch them have one, I can't ...

Thanks for the input everyone. Keely continued to have seizures, including 4 in one day on the day before Thanksgiving when my vet was closed of course. So we took her to the animal ER and they kept her overnight and started her on phenobarbitol. They were able to stop the seizures, and sent her hom...

No problem :-). Well, she's done blood work, and I have to take a urine sample in tomorrow. My husband has been home with the dogs lately, so they haven't had a chance to get into anything unusual. We don't use pesticides or anything like that....and her lyme test came back negative. I kind of had a...

I'm new here
Hello, I'm so glad to have found this forum, though not glad that I needed to. I have 2 Golden Retrievers, Murphy, who is 3 (and healthy so far) and Keely, who is 2, and has had 3 seizuires in the last week. The bloodwork came back normal, so the vet is pretty sure that it's epilepsy. After the 3rd ...
