Hi Sue - not sure if the link above will work, but there are trials with leviratecam and it seems to be used when other anti-convulsants are not working?

Hope it works for Scholtz!

Dear Sue & MK's Mom
I've been away from the computer for a couple of days, so sorry to hear that your dogs have not been well - I hope they are on the mend.

Hi Loren Sorry to hear Oscar had another seizure. Poppy is always restless after seizures, but if I feed her a meal and give her 2 teaspoons of haagan daaz ice cream, she will settle down. She sleeps in my room (OK - yes on the bed!!) but it seems to make her feel more secure and restful. Good luck ...

Your 2 Irish setters are rather gorgeous!! My previous dog was a lurcher and her sire was an Irish setter (crosse...

Hi Loren I have heard that some dogs do howl during or after seizures and that it does not mean they are in pain. My dog Poppy is sometimes quite vocal after a seizure, crying and whining. Do you have your dog on any treatment? I use rectal diazapam if she has a seizure and this helps with the post-...

Likewise I use the gel filled ice pack - they are pliable and mould to shape of dogs back and are easily held in place!

I'm dumb!

I managed to find all the info I need on the Epi Guardian Angels site - just didn't look properly before! It is not as complicated as I thought.

Thanks for replies.

Hi there Poppy experiences very bad post ictal behaviour, which lasts for hours - so I have rectal diazapam on hand which lessens this greatly. I also have Haagan Daas ice cream and a meal ready once she is fully out of the seizure, as she is extremely hungry after a seizure. Have you been prescribe...

Hi Daylene My dog Poppy was put on PB on 23rd Dec, she paced and whined continually for at least a week, but is getting back to normal now, but still a bit whiny. I am sure other members with more experience will post back to you with advice, I give Poppy 2 teaspoons of Haagan Das icecream before be...

Need help with home cooked diet!!

I'm switching Poppy over to the home cooked diet from the Epi Guardian Angels site - I just need to know about adding vitamins, they mention to use childrens multi vitamins, but I need to know quantity (I have bought liquid multi-vits for children) Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.
