Break through seizures - Poppy
Poppy had her first seizure on October 17th 2006 - she had 100% control of her seizures with 60mg Pb twice daily from December 2006 - March 2009. I really thought that we had got this monster licked. Unfortunately, the seizures have returned worse than they were in 2006. This Wednesday Poppy had a s...

I would ensure if you are going to do this, that it is done as you say, very gradually and with a knowledgeable vet. My dog had been seizure free for over 2 years, then in March this year she had a couple within 2 weeks of each other. This was despite her Pb levels being within the therapeutic range...

My dog had an MRI and a spinal tap done after recurring seizures. The first MRI scan showed that she had narrowed tubes that drain the fluid away from the brain (I can't remember the proper wording!). She did have some build up of fluid. We planned to do a comparison MRI scan and spinal tap a few mo...

Update
Poppy's results came back last week. Her Pb is in therapeutic range, and her liver is coping well. So we are no closer to knowing why her seizures started up again. I'm keeping a diary in case I can find some sort of pattern, but hoping that this was just a 'hiccup' and we will have another great ru...

Well, it obviously wasn't a missed Pb tablet. Poppy had another seizure this morning at 2:10am. I was woken by her screaming (She has never done that before during a seizure). I'm making an appointment at the vets, so that we can talk things through. If they are happening every couple of weeks, it m...
