Hi there I am very interested in your post, as it was discovered after MRI scans, that my dog Poppy had hydrocephalus. Poppy has narrowed tubes which do not drain the fluid away from the brain as normal, and after a second MRI scan for comparison, the Neurologist concluded that this was a congenital...

Poppy's seizures started with clusters on 17th Oct 2006 at around 7am whilst she was dozing on my bed. During her veterinary work up, they became too close together, and she was put on Pb. Since being on Pb, we have not had another seizure (and I hope it stays that way!). I also have a stash of rect...

Oh Jamie

I am so sorry to hear Logan is not doing well at the moment. This must be an awfully dreadful time for you right now.

I'll be praying that Logan improves and will keep you in my thought this weekend.

Take care.

So sorry to hear about Logan, I'm just cathing up with your posts. It can take a while for dogs to adjust to medication. Did your vet advice weaning your dog off the Pb? 2 months does not seem very long to be seizure free before weaning off of Pb, I have been told that dogs should be free for at lea...

Hi Kim & Misty Agree with Skrpio on this - the vaccines could have a lot to do with your pups seizures, herding dogs are hyper sensitive to many things. Also what wormer was used? Miblemax has caused problems in collies. I hope this link works re Ivermectin wormers and collies http://66.102.9.104/se...

Hi there Sorry to hear Barney is having a rough time. I had great success with the rectal valium with Poppy, it's quite easy, the valium is in a tube which you administer as soon as poss afer fitting starts (I can even manage this whilst Poppy is thrashing about and it does bring her out of the seiz...

Kurt

Just to say that hope all goes well with reducing Jackson's Pb, he's sure been through a lot.

Keeping everything crossed that 2008 will be a good year for you both.

Beth,
I'm so sorry to hear about TJ. It is the most difficult deciusion any of us can make.
Take comfort that you did everything possible to give her a happy life and from her photos, she certainly looks like she was a very happy dog.

Thinking of you.

Poppy - almost 1 year seizure free!

Hi there to everyone on this wonderful site Just to post that Poppy is almost 1 year seizure free!! In the dark days at the beginning of her condition, I never felt that there was much hope of a normal life for Poppy and me - but I was wrong, I am so pleased that Poppy responded so well to Pb. I sti...
