I'd get out the pill splitter and start with 1.5mg to see how it goes. On the other hand, somebody on one of the other sites keeps posting info from a study that says melatonin has caused seizures in some children...or something like that....i wasn't paying much attention. I forget this poodle's sto...

Glad to hear he didn't breed with any livestock, although it would be interesting to see a cowdoodle. You gotta wonder about the other 30 dogs though, and the possibility of passing epilepsy on to their future offspring. Not good. Maybe you could alert the other owners if you know where they are. Th...

Yes, this is pretty amazing. The thing i don't understand is why i don't hear about this MDR1 possibility more often. I did run across an obscure article or something that mentioned it recently, but that's about it. I would think this would be one of the first things people should look into. I need ...

I kinda don't think it's the KBr. It just doesn't make sense to me that weird side effects of KBr would only show up right after a seizure. Jackson has had plenty of side effects from various drugs but I've never seen any kind of head tilt or weakness on only one side. That makes me think brain tumo...

Lots of great photos! Can't say that i've ever heard of a grooming coat before, and looking at it doesn't give me a clue as to what it's for. Here's a cool banner with Jackson's pic that someone on another site made for me. If you're good with computer stuff you can take it and stick your own dog's ...

I'm thinking KBr might be the problem too. At least that's what caused my dog to go on vomiting binges. This can be associated with pancreatitis. And i've heard that it can come out of nowhere even though the dog has been on KBr with no problems before. Maybe google "pancreatitis KBr vomit". For a f...

Debbie, i saw your other msg about maybe the Zonisamide causing Casie's problems. You probably remember me saying that Jackson had some strange health issues while on it, but i never knew if it was the Zonisamide or not. He did go into status within days of stopping the drug though, so keep your eye...

Lack of heartworm protection definitely worries me. I'm pretty sure it'd be a death sentence for Jackson with his other heath issues, but i'm taking the chance. My sister found 2 stray dogs, both with heartworm, and she has nursed them back to health but it wasn't easy. Among other things, they have...

Good, i'm glad we're all in the same boat i guess. The neuro says it looks pretty "normal" too. Vivian, I have tried occular compression, but not since last year. I was never sure how much pressure to use or the frequency etc, and it never did any good the way i was doing it. In fact, the last time ...
