Hi, I remembered seeing a post on a site I get on frequently and went back and did a search. This may not be the brand you are using but thought I'd post what I found anyway. "Wal-Mart Says Removed Chinese-Made Dog Treats Over Deadly Chemical Wednesday, August 22, 2007 ADVERTISEMENTNEW YORK W...

I unfortunately figured that out (and read about it) after the fact, but have learned my lesson. I took them away as soon as I saw how bad they were breaking apart. I can't give them the marrow bones as they get very loose stools and sometimes upset tummy's but I've read that the large knuckle bones...

"BTW - beware of those things called Greenies too as they have been know to start off a seizure. Think they are from China too." That's interesting! I know one controversy about Greenies was that dogs were choking on them (or chunks of them). I've noticed that two of Ada's seizures were triggered wh...

I'm glad to hear he's okay. I have read that some dogs react in the opposite way and can excite them where most dogs have a sedating effect. I've been on ups and downs with my girls meds and it takes time. We added potassium bromide to the phenobarb, and you may want to do a search and check into th...

I'm glad you found this wonderful site, and am sorry that you didn't find it sooner as it sure has helped me. I'm not really sure what to say as it's hard to know what you've gone through as far as testing and medications, but I do remember one of our old dogs, Norman, barking once in a while when l...

I've heard of flashing (or strobe) lights being a trigger too. I almost brought Ada with me one time when I had to follow a plow truck the whole way home and was SOME glad I didn't bring her with me because the lights gave ME a headache! Ada always lays down and won't pick her head up off the floor ...

Hi! I'm sorry you have to join us in this battle, but hopefully that's the only one your boy will have. (I too am wondering why they put him on meds so soon.) They really are scary, but as members here have told me, it's important to try to remain calm for him as your stress can make things worse. M...

My vet gives me prefilled syringes and they're 5 mg's each. I end up having to give her two plus 2 10 mg pills at the same time. I read on guardian angels in a Dr. Thomas' article that a dog can have up to 2 mg per kg body weight. That would be 68 mg's for Ada. Now I'm wondering if the amount I'm do...

My husband called a little bit ago and said she got up good when he got home, went pee and right up the stairs no problem. She's toward the end of her 12 hours though which is why I think she does better this time of day. It would be super if this helps! (plus the lower dose still adjusting might in...

I'm thinking he may have meant 8 hours. Otherwise, it doesn't work out right. (he said a third, a third, a third, so maybe he just said the wrong thing.) I can do 5 am, 1 pm and 9 pm. That would work fine because I go home everyday at lunch to let them out. It seems that all of her seizures are now ...
