Thank you Jane and debrand. My best to you and Barney. It sure is a tough thing to watch, but I am keeping hope. Jane, I wondered, are you still dealing with an epi? You're an angel for all your information and encouragement! This site really is a wonderful thing to have come across. Everyone here i...

Sometimes I do alright, but when it went past the normal amount of time I did kind of freak out. I did try the RR, and will again. She had another today, because she got running around when my husband let her out. We feel so bad that she can't play. Sometimes she'll play a bit and be fine, others sh...

Time to test?

I'm wondering when it's time for Ada to be tested again. She's been on her higher dose of PB for 3 weeks now (after blood test came back that it was too low) And, she's been on KBR for 44 days now. I'm going to change to another vet when I do the next test and will probably get the 6 panel thyroid d...

This site gives me strength sometimes when I read how none of us will give up without a fight. It's so hard to know "when it's time". Our vet told me there wasn't anything else he could do for Ada and we may want to consider having her PTS. She's since had a 6 day seizure free span. There are times ...

The previous owner (who may have abused her) seemed to think there was something wrong with her back. He said he didn't know they were seizures she was having, thought it was something wrong with her back. So I'm not sure anything IS wrong with it. Her lumbar spine seemed fine according to the vet. ...

My dogs have also had these tennis balls but after hearing about the lead paint on some dog toys quite a while ago, I threw away the majority of their toy collection. They have a few Kong toys now, plus a few Jolly Balls, which are "supposed" to be safe. Are lead levels on normal blood tests? Sounds...

Ada isn't even two yet, so I don't think age comes into play, but I appreciate your reply. I have been taking up her water every night around 7 and let her have a couple sips each time I let her out so she's not too thirsty. She can drink what she wants all day long. She had just gone out not a half...

Well, we've gone 6 days now without a seizure. She has done the "head tilt" thing (like she would at beginning of a seizure) twice but has laid down and rested it away. Only thing is it seems like she still has the post-ictal symptoms. Like last night, she did the head tilt (I gave 2 sprays of rescu...

Well, that was a bummer...went home at lunch to find her having one. Must've just started before I got there, by the looks. A friend from Maine stopped in and was knocking on the door and I think between that and my two other dogs barking up a storm may have triggered it. (I tried the ice pack and a...

Thank you all for the replies! We haven't had a seizure for 3 days now, which is a record since Oct. 26th. I get up in the night to let her out (she's a little incontinent from meds) around midnight and have been saying a celebratory "yay" each time. After reading Wed. about the ice pack treatment, ...

The vet did an xray before we had her spayed and said her lumbar spine looked okay, no fractures. But we did the xrays before we'd heard about the abuse. So we didn't do the skull. It's odd you mentioned her spine, as the previous owner said he thought something was wrong with her back. We did chang...

Newbie needs support

Hi everyone. You have a terrific site and it's already helped me a lot. I've been researching 'til my eyes are crossed and can't find any cases that seem to be just like mine. I'm curious what you all might say. (this will be long to give you all my details) We adopted Ada Jade in mid-Sept, not know...
