***NEW RECORD***

Post by Tux1 » Thu Jun 07, 2007 8:49 am

It was worth a new thread. Tux has made it to day 14 and even if he has a siezure tomorrow he will have a new record of 15 days.
I feel like getting Tux a cake or something for his accomplishments. Ive never been so excited about this. I really feel like this is a reason for celebration. Now i just want to see the streak continue through the month one day at a time.

Thank you all
Joe

Congrats to Tux. I think that keeping the stress level down is helping too. Cake for sure - but just a little one.

The stress level has been lowered dramatically around here lately and Vanessa and I actually are getting along better then we ever have. If this is what we need to do to keep our dog happy and seizure free then it is 100% worth it to us. We both feel like we are on to something here and I do think there will be a hiccup now and again for him but Right now I think he will go awhile with out having one.

As fast as the streak starts it ends. Midnight last night on the dot of Day 15. He made it to day 15 but barely had 3 siezures right at midnight last night. this was a huge shock last night as he hasnt had a siezure at that hour of night. He did set a new record of 15 days though. So we start over today and so far so good

Joe,
I'm really sorry to hear that Tux had some seizures, but as you said 15 days, what a great run! I'll be thinking of you and Tux and hopefully next time will be even longer. Come on Tux, you can do it!

We only made it 9 days again. This last one happened on Sunday the 17th. The only thing that was different that day was We all went swiming and Tux swam for a couple hours. He didnt want to get out of the pool. And we found later that he and his sister and myself all burned out feet on the hot pavement around the pool. I dont know if this caused the stress that caused the seizures but it could be. Other wise Tux was having so much fun jumping in the pool and swiming with me and his sister.

Hmmm - I didn't scroll down to the end of this, and sorry if I sounded like an idiot.

It does sound like you are getting somewhere with Tux, and I hope it continues. Does sound like (and you) are having lots of fun, which is great.

Good luck.

We are hovering around the 3 siezure cluster everytime. He has had 3 a time the last 4 episodes. Before that we were having 7 a time. So yes it has gotten better as that goes. I can live with the 3 becuase after an hour its all over with and we move on to the next streak.

Hi Joe,
I"m sorry to hear about Tux but don't lose hope. The clusters are getting better and maybe it's just the summer heat that may be causing it. After looking back over Casey's records from last year, the summer months seem to be much worse for him, than the winter months. I try to keep him inside as much as possible, in less, like Tux he is in the water. Just something to think about. Casey is still doing very well with using the Chlorazapate to control the clusters, unfortunatly it really knocks him out for 2 or 3 days.
Thinking of you both and hoping next time is longer.
