Orkney, Scotland, UK

Border Collie Snorri (very nearly 10) is still behaving like a demented puppy, after six years of fit-freedom! He has just had his six-month epi checkup and he passed it with flying colours! Despite this, we never forget that he is epileptic, and that he is just very lucky to be easily-controlled.

If your little hairy friend suffers from this nasty affliction, take heart! You CAN control it, even if you can't cure it.

Congratulations to Snorri. It is great to know that one pup out there has got this monster under control. Maybe it's the great air on Orkney and he just hasn't got the time or the inclination to be overcome by this.

Great to hear some good news! I agree with Jane, it must be the clean air in Scotland. I can just imagine Snorri running through the heather.
Keep it up Snorri!!!!

Hi Snorri - I have just visited your web site. I love your Snorri's day page.
You are lucky to live on such a beautiful island and be able to run so free - just like a dog should be able to do. No wonder you have no time to have seizures. Good health my friend. (I searched the web to find how to say it in Gaelic for you but could not find a translator.)

Good one Snorri!!!! If all of the dogs could be as fortunate as yourself, all would be right with the world!

"Slainte Mhath" (Pronounced a little like "Slantjy Va") = "Good Health", most often heard accompanying a drink, like n"Cheers!"

The only thing is, Orcadians never spoke Gaelic, because Orkney was part of Norway until about the time that America was discovered. This is why both my collies have Norse-style names: Snorri means "Naughty Boy", in old Icelandic!
