I am grateful for a good 12 weeks since Spencer's last fit (a bad cluster).
In the last 10 weeks we have added Zonisamide 300mg BD (to Pheno 300mg, KBrom 600mg & Milk Thistle 1G - all BD).
And during this time we weaned the Keppra becuase I could not regularly manage the 8hrly dosing. A slow and carefull wean finished last Friday morning, with the hope that the manageable 12hrly dosing of everything else will keep Spencer stable. 18 hours later - 3am - and Spencer had another grand mal.
Fortunately it was only one fit with minimal post ictal disturbance, and no signs of anything since then. Maybe it was just a warning for me to not get comfortable & complacent in Spencer's care.
Really, it is just a reminder that this disease sucks.
My thoughts & prayers continue to go out to all of you who are dealing with this. Be strong, I don't think our dogs want us to give up on them.
Grateful for the good days, weeks (months).
Trevor & Spencer.
