28 Days!!

Post by ShilohsMom » Thu Mar 20, 2014 7:48 am

WooooWhooo!!!! While I'm grateful for every day Shiloh doesn't have a seizure, it's nice to have a four week break. I'm assuming that the KBr is kicking in and helping so guess I'll quit complaining about his counter licking! May all our babies have a seizure free day today!

Excellent Colleen and Shiloh! Keep it up! I remember when we used to make it to the 28 day mark. We preferred to call it making it a month. It just sounded better. It confused our first vet at first, until she did the math.

Hoping for continued success!

Today is day 33 and so excited! Can't remember the last time he's gone this long. Nice to see the KBr kicking in.

Plus I wanted to get above those stupid essay posts. Don't know why they aren't removed.

Well crud, the streak is broken but as far as I'm concerned it's still success that he went 35 days without one. Could be worse, he could of figured out how to open the fridge!

35 days is a great success in our world. I know it's disappointing to a certain extent but hopefully it's isolated and he doesn't keep you going for the next couple of days. It's so nice without them, to get a break, and when it rears its ugly head, it is still deflating. Keep your spirits up and let us know how you are doing. I swear I am waiting for the day to come home and have Winston in the kitchen with all of the food from the fridge in the floor laying in it like some sort of Saudi Arabian king. I have even thought about putting some sort of lock on it. He figured out how to open the cabinets with that giant powerful nose and big paws. The fridge door would be no match if he ever takes an inkling to get in there :) Keep us posted and here is to a quiet night.

Thank you all. Shiloh had a great night, very thankful for that. Was going to bring him to work but had to do the old boob smash thing. After it was done went home and brought him to work with me where he had another seizure. This time he was standing and I was petting his head, then the Elvis Presley lip snarl started and well you all know how the rest goes.

I'm sorry. I noticed since we started the Keppra that Winston has them more during the day. In the beginning and while on Pheno, they were almost always at night. Kiss that babe for me. We'll keep our paws crossed that this bout is over for your guys.

Thanks Cynthia. With Shiloh there was no predicting whether they would happen at night or day while resting, although I'm thinking that with the Keppra he has started having them while awake as well. I didn't really notice that while on PB. I'm glad I can bring him to work, although it's challenging when he's trying to eat everything not nailed down. I have a few chew type toys so that helps him with that urge to chew. I'm focusing on the positive of having such a long break and praying that we'll have another long break after this passes.
