Just out of curiosity...has anyone tried any kind of holistic remedies? I was looking into acupuncture, but it seems to be pretty pricey. However, if people have had good results with it, it may absolutely be worth it. Or do any kind of supplements seem to be beneficial?

Jake went to a holistic vet at the very beginning that prescribed a few homeopathic remedies that helped reduce the length of his seizures. He is still on one that is called Calm and Rock Rose, and it does help calm him down. He takes Taurine, Milk Thistle, and Fish Oil. Plus he takes a supplement called Cholodin that definitely helps with his overall disposition. The best thing you can do is see a vet that is either a homeopath/ holistic vet or one that is holistic/conventional. We've been lucky enough to have had both. Jake's primary vet is an acupuncturist and Jake did get a few treatments, but other than helping with his energy level they didn't really help with his seizures. After eight years he's still considered refractory, but luckily his seizures are very mild for now.
I hope this helps.
