A study to confirm the efficacy of a new veterinary diet in dogs with idiopathic epilepsy.
The study runs over six months and involves three visits to the Royal Veterinary College.
Owners benefit from six months free dog food and patients are monitored by a neurologist for the duration of the trial.
We are looking to recruit dogs that meet the inclusion criteria below:
• Aged between six months and 11 years
• Weight between 4kg and 50kg
• In general good health, with an unremarkable interictal neurological examination for a dog on antiepileptic drug treatment
• No clinical significant findings on haematology, biochemistry and bile acid testing
• Unremarkable MRI and CSF analysis
• Have a seizure frequency of at least three seizures in the past three months on phenobarbitone and/or potassium bromide treatment.
