Morning everyone. Things have been going better with Casey since taking him off the Zonisimide. He went 21 days this time and has only had 2 seizures in 2 days. We have started giving the Chlorazapate again and that seems to be helping control the clusters. My husband was home yesterday when it happened and said Callie came running into the bedroom barking to let him know something was wrong. When he went to investigate he found Casey having a seizure. She is such a good girl :) and has let us know before when he is having them. Hopefully that was it, but I can live with this after last months problems.
Hope all your furkids are doing well and give them big hugs from us. Wishing everyone a great weekend. The weather has cooled off and I think it's great!

That's nice she lets you know. I wish my other friend Felix did that. He usually either slinks away or sits there watching Jackson out of the corner of his eye. Glad it's going better w/o the Zonis.

Well, only 3 days inbetween this time. Early this morning 2 a.m. had a GM. Started back on another dose of Chlorazapate. We have had a very stressful week to say the least. A death in the family had us traveling to Northern Indiana last evening in a very small cramped car. (We are staying at my parents home). Tried to board them, but the vets was full and our larger vehicle is in the shop for repairs due to a recent accident. When it rains, it pours. He's been really out of it today and has slept the majority of the day. I refilled all of his meds early this week knowing we would be spending 4 or 5 days away from home. I'm hopeing that once we return to our home in KY, our lives will settle back down and maybe Casey will get a break. I hope everyone else is doing good, and hope all of your fur kids have a very quiet weekend. Hugs to all.

Thanks Debby,
Things are better today. Had a good night, no problems and the drugs are starting to wear off, so Casey is much happier this morning. The next couple of days are going to be our worse and we should be going back to our home late Tues or Wed. I sure would love to see Casey go at least a month this next time, so I've decided I'm going to keep positive thoughts and maybe, just maybe that will happen. Thank you for your kindness and I hope Dylan is still doing well. Will check in again in a few days.

Evening everyone,
We just got back into town and while at my parents Casey had one seizure, which he has never done, but the ride up there was pretty rough on both of them, not much room for moving around. Luckily, that was the only one and he seems much happier now that we are back at our home. I hope everyone had a quiet weekend. Starting the countdown again.

Hmmm.... Makes you wonder, doesn't it? MK started to seize in January of '06 and in January '07 I had him in emergency again. I'm trying to think of something that's different in Jan (same week in Jan, too) and I can't. What do you think could trigger seizures for your pup in Oct and Nov? Do you think he could be allergic to something such as moldy leaves? I know that's a stretch, but that's weird.

the vet thought maybe a fall pollen
I checked a pollen alert chart, the week Dylan seized the levels were the lowest of the month
who knows.
