October 19-21, the Canine Health Foundation is holding a Parent Club Conference in St Louis MO. This conference brings together canine health research scientists, and breed club health representatives. The Canine Epilepsy Research Consortium will be well represented at this meeting, with Drs Johnson, O'Brien, Patterson, and Mickelson all speaking during the Epilepsy Master Session. If your club is already involved, ask your health rep who will be at the meeting to introduce him- or herself to us. If your club is not yet participating, you may want to encourage the health rep to talk with one of us and find out how to join in the project. We look forward to speaking with representatives of many breed clubs!
Would you like to see your club more involved in making members aware of epilepsy in your breed? Has your club done a good job on a health survey, or awareness campaign? Any novel fundraisers or other activities by your club? Please share what you would like to see your clubs do, and the things that clubs are already doing that have worked.
