I'm going to be dosing Ada 3 times a day now, and since I got off the phone with my vet, I have a few questions. (I am stopping by the vet's later, so I can ask him too, but thought I'd ask my faithful cohorts while I'm thinking of it)
I'm to give her 1 grain PB, every 6 hours.
I'd also like to split her Kbr up to 3x daily. (1500 mg's daily)
If I'm doing this every 6 hours, that equals 18 hours, not 24.
How do those of you who split the dose by 3 times do it?

Are you home during the day to allow you to adhere to that kind of schedule? the Pb stays in the system for 12 hours, so Adajane is getting a lot during the day then goes a longer time without? Why isn't it 8 hour intervals?

I'm thinking he may have meant 8 hours. Otherwise, it doesn't work out right. (he said a third, a third, a third, so maybe he just said the wrong thing.) I can do 5 am, 1 pm and 9 pm. That would work fine because I go home everyday at lunch to let them out.
It seems that all of her seizures are now in the evening, so I'm hoping maybe this will help even out her blood levels of meds and reduce the seizures as well as improve her mobility.
I also read on guardian angels that reducing a dose of PB can take 10-14 days for the blood level to even out, so whomever it was that said a few days wasn't long enough to see improvement, was right.

It was me that told you you need to give it more than a couple of days. Not trying to be right, it's just fact!
Wow, I can't wait to see if this really helps Adajade!!! (I called her Adajane last time, sorry). Someone else on this board had to start giving meds three times per day, but I cannot recall whom. It would be great if they see this thread and let you know how it worked for them.

My husband called a little bit ago and said she got up good when he got home, went pee and right up the stairs no problem. She's toward the end of her 12 hours though which is why I think she does better this time of day. It would be super if this helps! (plus the lower dose still adjusting might increase the chances of better mobility too)
The vet also said don't be surprised if she has a seizure when I adjust the meds to the first smaller dose. Hopefully she won't, but he wanted me to know that she may.

dylan had 3 times a day, both the last months of oct. but he got 1 full morning and nite and a half in the afternoon
most of his clusters came at nite. the vet thought he was metabelizing it to fast.
so far his pattren is driving both me and the vet nuts.no seizures from nov-aug. then clusters in the last half of aug thu oct.
vet is starting to think a fall pollen
